Beauty in the Simple

This is another portrait from a Karen refugee camp in the hills of northern Thailand. The Karen are among the tens of thousands who fled war and persecution in Myanmar, now living in a long, uncertain in-between — unable to return home, and not permitted to fully build a new one. And yet, out of so little, they have made a village: homes, paths, a community, a life. This girl took us to hers and showed it to us with quiet pride. It was simple and basic — and we found it truly beautiful. This image, "Beauty in the Simple", was captured in Mae Hong Son, Thailand. Made by us in our gallery.
