Open Editions

Open Edition prints are available as rolled prints, mounted prints or framed.

We offer open edition prints for purchase in our gallery and online. Open edition prints are printed in-house on Hahnemühle photo rag paper and we have no restrictions on how many we can print. All our posters & canvas are open editions.

River Dart Gallery has put together several collections to view and purchase. Each collection helps convey our ideas and emotions about the images we capture. We create every image with a meticulous attention to detail. We carefully select printing styles that create a balanced flow throughout each collection.

The majority of our original works are available as open edition prints and can be printed to order. Our printing methods and ink / paper choices ensure the highest quality and longevity of the artwork. Every print we produce is a unique piece of fine art.

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

HIGH QUALITY FINE ART PRINTS
Archival inks & paper that have
permanence ratings up to 105 years

Limited Editions

We offer limited edition prints for purchase in our gallery and online.

A limited edition print is an original print limited to a predetermined quantity. We sign & number each individual piece. The numbers on the print denote the number of the individual piece and the edition’s size (i.e. 10/25).

We determine the size, quantity and substrate of the edition. The choice of paper, printing technique and the size of the edition may vary between editions. Typically, the more manually intensive the process is, the more each limited edition print will cost. All prices are raised after 50% of the collection is sold. The premium price is a function of the limited supply of each product, and the exceptionally high quality of these prints.

Our limited editions sizes usually start at A3. The quantity of prints are normally in editions of 25 (unless stated otherwise) and are normally printed in-house on Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Each piece is archival window mounted with a (50mm – 65mm) border. Prints are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity assuring that the print is a River Dart Gallery original.

We also create smaller editions of 5 and under. These editions are priced at a higher rate than our standard edition sizes of 25.

Our limited edition prints are available as reproductions such as greeting cards, posters & canvas prints.

Entire collections are available on a per quote basis.

What is a Giclée print?

A Giclée print is an inkjet print.
The word Giclée (pronounced ‘zhee-KLAY’ ), comes from a French verb meaning “to squirt or spray”.

Giclée is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The Giclée method of image reproduction offers vivid colours and adds a dramatic sense of depth to the images.

Our paper choices

We have the ability to print on a variety of substrates. Some of the substrates are paper, canvas, cloth, wood and metal. Giclée editions are printed from high-resolution digital images, using the finest quality ink and paper stock available.

We love the archival fine art papers from Hahnemühle. Each paper has different textures and colour tones. The result is colour saturation, tonal range and image detail that exceeds other types of image reproduction.

By using Hahnemühle acid free archival / museum quality papers and only Epson inks we offer true archival quality.
