Man Mo is famous for the incense and you can smell it on the street as you approach. Hundreds of large whimsical rings of burning incense are suspended 10 feet in the air. The incense is food for the gods and should be burned when praying.
It is a temple to The God of Literature (Man) and The God of War (Mo).
I loved all the sensory engagement that encompasses you as you enter. Daylight streams in from small skylights that is filtered through smoke and incense. The atmosphere is rich and it has a mystical feel.
Watching people humbling themselves in the act of worship. It is a beautiful and tranquil spot in the middle of such a hectic city.
